I see you don't limit yourself to WWII weapons (the Mauser K98!). I think of the Douglas A-26 Invader (, followed by remarks about their use in the Bay of Pigs invasion and in Africa). Aircraft like B-25, P-47 and P-51 also soldiered on into the '60's.

Old aircraft were also used in the Biafra war.

The Biafrans managed to set up a small yet effective air force. The BAF commanders were Chude Sokey and later Godwin Ezeilo, who had trained with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
