The UN just came out with a human rights report slamming North Korea. I'm watching a CNN story on it and it seems they're basing these new charges on simple drawings by someone who says he was held prisoner at a gulag there. CNN had to warn people of disturbing images on the drawings that were equivalent to something that looked like Beavis and Butthead. Then they say Kenneth Bae is being held prisoner there. One of the drawings depicted "skeletal starving people eating snakes." Has anyone seen those latest pictures of Kenneth Bae? Unless he's eating the skeletal starving people eating snakes, I don't think he's starving at all.

Bae is a special case, Although of Korean decent he is a American citizen, the North Koreans intend to eventually trade him for something. As such the North Koreans can't let a single hair on his head come to harm. He is reserved the full five star accommodations.
The locals are another story. I can't comment on what was shown but I guarantee Keneth Bae was kept as far from anything a miss as possible.

Mace, just because Bae is likely being kept five star doesn't mean that the whole story is bull. In world war 2 the Germans operated a allied POW camp in Colditz Castle. The prisoners there were well kept. Upon liberation the Allied POWs discovered that the Nazis also had a labor camp on the grounds. These POWs had no idea.
The camps in North Korea are said to be large, the North Korean government has been operating and expanding them for fifty years. So unless you your self have proof that the drawings were bogus, beyond pointing at Bae who would likely be segregated from the real prison population. I suggest moving on.

The CNN report said Bae was being held in the same gulag. What else were they saying? Bae being an American is the point to get people angry that an American is being treated like this.

John Kerry was meeting chinese officials to discuss NK issues not long ago. Guess the meeting didn't go well. Timing of report release was just a tad bit too convenient.

I wonder if Hillary Clinton left the position as Secretary of State, before John Kerry came in because President Obama has her traveling all over the place. He's been sending John Kerry everywhere lately.

The reason Hillary Clinton left the Obama Admin and Secretary of State position is simple.

She wanted the time to organize and prepare for her own Presidential run in 2016. That position was taken by her to beef up her resumee for four years as SECSTATE so she could use it for her presidential run, which she is now really gearing up to do.

Remember Hillary Clinton was criticized for her lack of foreign policy experience running for President. Now she's considered an expert and one of the best just because of all that travelling. But remember a lot of her trips as Secretary of State were PR oriented. Madeline Albright was a far superior Secretary of State and respected by world leaders all around.
