It makes me angry when I hear on the news the underhanded blame being put on China for the outsourcing of jobs in the US. US corporations are part of the blame for wanting to get the lowest price labor they can get and still get good quality goods. The other is the American labor unions trying to squeeze management for every penny they can. These two factors have cost the US an untold number of jobs.

It's called greed.

What irks me even more is that those company executives gave themselves either a pay raise or bonuses after outsourcing and laying off many domestic workers just to reach the bottom line.

That's pretty harsh Equation. I believe Jesus is Lord and I'm no freak. You certainly aree entetled to your opinion.

The Bible teaches Christians..

Jesus was speaking to all who believe when he made this statement.. not just Peter.

About pastors ,ministers and elders of the church the Bible states;

The man is doing what he should..

Not all Christian are self righteous, to me since this guy is a pastor with an ulterior motive he doesn't want to separate the church from state. He wants to make the church or cult AS a state. No thank you buddy.

To the contrary, when reading the article, he sounds like a fairly upstanding citizen of China who has objected to government activities regarding Christian churches in the region, including the removal of a cross.

He spoke out against it, and arranged protests...so he was arrested and detained.

As I said before, true Christians do not believe in forcing others to become Christian. Such behavior would be incompatible with Christ's teachings and would not produce true, heart felt Christians at any rate.

But they do believe in sharing their message with others with love and reason, so others can decide for themselves.

In nations where that very act is either illegal, or viewed badly, they run up against persecution, mistreatment, arrest, and imprisonment for doing so.

It sounds more like that is what is happening to me.

I see him as a potential David Karesh type. Dangerous and self righteous using religion as a weapon of fear as to control and not peace. Heck he gives Christian a bad rap. A cult leader bending on trying to change the country his way.

Byron, I am a pastor in a local Baptist church, I love my people, I serve my people, I am honest with my people about my own personal struggle with SIN.... I am COMMANDED by MY MASTER, WHOM I LOVE AND ADMIRE, to share this beautiful salvation experience...... I deplore any tool of Satan to keep men and women, boys and girls apart from my Savior.....

The truth is that many governments, and religions feel threatened by the "freedom" that I have as a servant of MY MASTER, no I WILL NOT bow my knee to any government, Communist or Democratic, or any Person or Thing other than Jesus Christ!! He alone is worthy! I find it very legalistic to label this pastor as someone who wants to impose his religion on somebody else????? God alone is my judge, your judge, would you want somebody who is unable to understand your motivations, judging your actions??????

If he were to disobey HIS Master, then he would come under the judgement of his Lord, Jesus Christ. I would bet my last Ben Franklin that this man is reaching out to the LOST, as His Master and MINE, commands him to do! I love my GOD, MY FAMILY, and MY COUNTRY, you know the Air Force Brat loves you too brother, and I do, I love each of you and wish you the very best that Jesus, who died in my place, could offer you, most particularly Eternal Life!

No true Christian is a subversive force in his or her country, we are commanded to love and pray for those in authority, and to submit ourselves to that government as long as it does not violate our Scriptures, when the government begins to harm innocents who are following their LORDS commands, then it is a Christians responsibility to stand up and speak for the innocent, and call the Govt into account. respectfully, bro bax, the Air Force BRAT

The Chinese Embassy in Turkey has confirmed that three Chinese engineers have been kidnapped by militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). China and Turkey are cooperating to rescue the hostages.

Sounds to me like another one of those self righteous religious freaks whose goal is trying to change China into a certain religion all because they hated the government.

It is a strong sweeping statement without warrant. The guy is simply exercising his beliefs and opposing orchestrated state efforts to curtail their religious activities.

From what I have read...he is not even close to that, Bryon.

Koresh was teaching that he, himself was Jesus Christ, and basically that his followers should worship him. This man, from what I read, is doing nothing at all like that.

He simply is disagrees with how the government treats Christian churches and is protesting it. IMHO, because he is also a popular preacher, that other Christians like and respect, the government feels his influence is too great and ismaking an example out of him for that reason.

Delft, the people of Iraq voted in their own government and built their own constitution, which is more government building than they ever had before. Remember those purple fingers? hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis voting in the face of terror death threats?

Now, they just went through a change of government, based on their constitution. This s indicative of great progress over having a depot for a rule.

Admittedly, their condition remains very tenuous...and they ave to become more inclusive of all their citizens if they can, but to say their government ha not been rebuilt is just not so.
Jeff, they voted their parliament from candidates vetted by the occupation forces and they wrote a constitution with the "help"of the same occupation forces. The prime minister who is now being replaced was selected by the occupation forces.
The political system introduced by US was based on divide and rule, playing sectarian groupings against each other, and that has now led to disaster.
Delft, any modern processing plant as to have product shipped to it from elsewhere to function. If product cannot get there, then it will not operate properly. This is probably not an issue of corruption whatsoever, and much more another sad result of sectarian violence.

As it is, this is not world or breaking "news." This is you cherry picking events in Iraq, and putting an ant-US slant on them. Anyone can look at a half filled glass and either call it half full, or half empty. Usually it is either a matter of perspective, or personally held beliefs.

Lets leave that out of this thread please.
Your modern procession plant depends on a reliable transport infrastructure better than available but you would begin by selecting an area to build it that produces much more than a fraction of a percent of the raw material. Iraq probably needs more and smaller plants for this function but someone had a nice design and built it, possibly with cheap but non-Iraqi labor, at a very nice profit.

I will in future think more deeply about the thread to put a post.

I remember hearing about a movie about Wall Street that contained the slogan (?) "Greed is good".

Initially, there is some truth to this, as you would expect from any force that had just ousted a tyrant.

Bu that was years ago and the Iraqis have indeed been making their own way since.

As is evidenced by the surge and its success against the insurgency which depended on sectarian groupings, the US certainly sought and achieved, along with the Iraqis at the time, enough unity to defeate the insurgency soundly. The US did not seek to leave thins in a sectarian upheavel, rather to try and bring them together. What has happened since is the issue, delft...and that is the point I made. They need to get back to the policies that allowed Al Queda Iraq to be defeated.

But again, rehashing all of this is not "breaking news."

Please get back on topic
