Embraer Announces Firm Order for 20 E-Jets from SkyWest
SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, Brazil, Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Embraer today announced a firm order from SkyWest, Inc. (SkyWest) (NASDAQ: ) for 20 E-Jets. The order has a value of USD 914 million, based on current list prices, and will be included in Embraer's 2017 third-quarter backlog. Combined with last month's announcement for 25 new aircraft, today's order results in a cumulative order of 45 new aircraft placed by SkyWest with Embraer in 2017.
Of the 20 aircraft, SkyWest will receive 15 E175 SC (Special Configuration) aircraft, in a 70-seat configuration. The E175 SC aircraft features an E175 airframe, which can be retrofitted to 76 seats in the future. SkyWest will also receive five E175s, in a 76-seat configuration, similar to aircraft SkyWest has previously ordered.
Including this new contract, Embraer has sold more than 380 E175 jets to airlines in North America since January 2013, earning more than 80% of all orders in the 76-seat jet segment.
Since entering revenue service, the E-Jets family has received more than 1,700 orders and over 1,300 aircraft have been delivered. Today, E-Jets are flying in the fleets of 70 customers in 50 countries. The versatile 70 to 130-seat family is flying with low-cost airlines as well as with regional and mainline carriers.

MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to export 215 SSJ-100 and MC-21 aircraft for a total of $7.65 bln in 2018-2025, according to the Ministry’s optimistic forecast of aircraft exports as part of the strategy for the development of civil aviation exports.
The total amount of state support to ensure supplies within 8 years will amount to 73.7 bln rubles ($1.28 bln). According to the optimistic scenario, the share of state support will decrease to 25-30%. For comparison, according to the document, the state support for export of SSJ-100 aircraft for the Irish CityJet reached 56%.
According to the pessimistic scenario, there will be no export deliveries.
"The absence of comprehensive measures to support exports will reduce production of civil aircraft and helicopter production to a level that does not exceed the requirements of the domestic market, which will lead to a slowdown in production," the document said.
According to the basic forecast, Russia will be able to export airplanes and helicopters for up to $3.4 bln.

Azimuth Airlines gets its fourth SSJ100
The newly delivered Superjet is a long-range version (Azimuth Airlines)
Russia’s startup carrier Azimuth Airlines has taken delivery of its fourth Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100). The new aircraft, registration code RA-89085, landed at the airline’s base airport of Rostov-on-Don on September 29. It was ferried from Ulyanovsk following a paint job, an Azimuth spokesperson told Russian Aviation Insider.
The newly delivered airliner, a long-range version of the Russian-made regional jet, is on lease from State Transport Leasing Corporation (GTLK), just like the previous three SSJ100s in Azimuth’s fleet that were delivered earlier this year.
Azimuth Airlines has four more SSJ100s on firm order, and expects to receive these by next April. The operator also has two letters of intent, with GTLK and with Superjet manufacturer Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, for four aircraft each. The airline’s fleet might thus reach 16 airframes by 2020.
The carrier received its air operator’s certificate on August 18, and commenced operations on September 21 from Moscow’s airport. Rostov-on-Don is the airline’s primary base. When that closes in December 2017, Azimuth will relocate to Rostov’s new airport, Platov.
Azimuth has announced that its route network will originally include destinations in Russia’s Southern and North Caucasus federal districts, which it will eventually link to other regions across the country. The airline expects to break even within three years. Azimuth expects its traffic to amount to between 2 and 3 million passengers per year

HOURLY OPERATING COSTS OF 45 JETS COMPARED
November 16, 2015 By Alton K. Marsh
At AOPA’s request, aircraft purchase advisor Conklin & de Decker has estimated hourly operating costs for 45 jets likely to be at the National Business Aviation Association convention in Las Vegas. These are variable costs and include fuel, maintenance (parts and labor), engine reserves, auxiliary power units if applicable, and miscellaneous expenses to include crew travel, catering and cabin supplies, landing and parking fees—all boiled down to a single number.
David Wyndham, president and co-owner of Conklin & de Decker, made these comparisons.
As a quick summary, the least expensive to operate is a Cirrus Vision SF50 jet at $661.53 per hour. The most expensive, as you might expect, is a private airliner. The Airbus ACJ320 ultra-long-range, large-cabin business jet comes in at $7,964.69 per hour, while the Boeing BBJ 2 ultra-long-range, large-cabin business aircraft comes in at $7,674.95. A BBJ 3 is less expensive at $7,396.29.
The Eclipse comes in at $888.59, while a Gulfstream G650 is $4,843.16 per hour. Looking at additional manufacturers, an Embraer Lineage 1000E costs $5,827.32 per hour, while a Cessna Citation Mustang is $1,015.37. A Cessna Citation X+ is $4,098.69, while the new Cessna Latitude is $2,935.67. The Nextant 400XTi comes in at $1,623.06, and the SyberJet SJ30 at $1,607.77. A Dassault Falcon 8X costs $3,803.75 per hour while a Learjet 75 is $2,172.31, and a Bombardier Challenger 850 is $3,544.71. The Cessna Citation CJ4 is $1,970.13 per hour. Embraer’s Phenom 300 costs $1,757.53 per hour.
The company estimates that the HondaJet costs $1,134.90 per hour to operate.
