Millions headed by foot, car and bus to the city south of Baghdad to celebrate the birthday of a ninth-century saint, the last of 12 imams revered by Shiites. Security forces seized cellphones, which can trigger bombs, and posters of Shiite religious leaders that might provoke attacks by followers of rival clerics. Security was tight after a suicide bombing on Thursday, in which a woman killed at least 18 people who were on their way to the celebrations.
