This idea had been bugging me for the past few years. We always hear of NATO casualties from the middle east, but rarely do any of them result in head-on conflicts, most of the time just IED and some shady bombs. The closest that happens to a real combat is shady snipers taking out a guy or two by ambushing a team on patrol. But we never really truly hear any soldiers die from head-on conflicts, such death resulted from a gun, a greanade, or even a RPG (this is often, but rarely result in death when the troops are alarmed).
Who here in this forum can give me a rough estimate of soldiers died from head-on conllicts?
