Apparently Rocket Lab will be launching a scramjet powered hypersonic vehicle developed by Hypersonix for the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) in late February.

I checked out the Hypersonix website, and the vehicle they are going to launch on this mission is called Dart AE and is featured in the picture above. Here is what Hypersonix's has to say about the mission and the vehicle:

The flight will see Hypersonix deploy DART AE, a 3.5-metre, scramjet-powered hypersonic aircraft designed to validate advanced propulsion, materials, sensors and guidance systems at real hypersonic flight conditions. The mission will be the first flight of DART AE.

Unlike conventional scramjets powered by kerosene, SPARTAN uses hydrogen, producing zero CO₂ emissions and offering are usable, low-maintenance solution for a range of high-speed defence and aerospace missions.

“What we learn from this mission will directly inform the next generation of operational hypersonic vehicles.”

Footage of the collision between the American destroyer Truxtun DDG-103 and the supply ship USNS Supply T-AOE-6 during refueling. The video was filmed on February 11 in the Caribbean Sea during UNREP exercises, presumably near Cuba. Judging by the video, the destroyer Truxtun DDG-103 approached the supply ship USNS Supply at an excessively steep angle.

This is legit one of the best copium double think I have ever seen. And the other said, china controls the press so they actually hide a lot of collisions... like you can hide a damage destroyer returning to port to be repaired nowadays....

There‘s spme truth to it though, especially looking at Chinede destroyer ramming into a coast guard ship. China has a steep learning curve and it hasn‘t even properly started.

I don’t see how the two incidents are comparable. In PLAN’s case two Chinese warships collided while maneuvering against a smaller, much more agile target whereas here you don’t have any hostile target, the sea is calm with great visibility, and two friendly ships just started playing bumper ships with one another for no good reason. Mention that instead of taking any remedial measures or self protection measures some of the sailors started recording the thing on their own phones… If this is not a sign of bad discipline I don’t know what is…
