1/ Envisaged Advanced Super Hornet a new variant with CFT and pods for weapons
He is cheaper yes about 65 mill $ good AESA radar weapons load but have a weakness her range for heavy fightet similar F-16 CR on average of 900 km in geenral others heavy fighter + 200 km and USN need have CAW with a more long range F-35C do CR 1150 km, Advanced Super Hornet is not stealth low observable very different.

2/ F-16, last want also about 60/70 mill $ a new variant with APG-83 a E/F block 70 remains completely capable but also less good CR 900 vs 1100 F-35A price decrease regularly all the Ft Worth plant now build F-35 remains only a little line for last Iraqis F-16 in addition the F-35A have a more big weapons load.

It is a good choice severals years ago ordered a mix of F-16E/F waiting F-35 get better... now normaly so late not logic confirmed by price now F-35A want 102 mill sure in 2019 max 90 eventually 85 and a new F-16 want more so this little difference is not interesting in comparison with capabilities.

For F-35 and stealth now one advantage but the number of radar capable detected increase ( no targeted right now ) and possible in 10+ years stealth get detected almost as normal aircrafts at long range and targeted except new technologies ? so the number is the more important for power.

The CBO are "idiot politicians", they are completely ignorant about air-combat, and the ignorance of taking a 4 gen into highly contested airspace. There is also NO evidence of any real ability to detect the F-22/F-35 or any other serious 5th gen, its always gonna have the combat edge.

The advance Hornet is a "wet dream", I talked with a Boeing St. Louis friend tonight, this is "ALL POLITICS, and Pres TRUMP, in not an "outsider", he's a very shrewd politician, but not terribly knowledgable about combat aircraft!

it's a Military Forum here so ...
US Warns of Possible Attacks on Churches, Holiday Gatherings
Federal authorities warned law enforcement agencies across the nation Friday that

sympathizers are continuing to call for attacks on churches and other holiday gathering sites.

The warning was issued after a publicly available list of U.S. churches was posted on a militants' social media site. It also came just days after Monday's attack at a Christmas market in Berlin that left 12 dead and 56 injured.

Separately on Friday, police in Australia detained five men suspected of planning a series of Christmas Day attacks using explosives, knives and a gun in the heart of Melbourne.

FBI spokesman Andrew Ames said U.S. citizens are advised to maintain awareness of their surroundings and report suspicious activity. He said the FBI will work closely with federal, state and local law enforcement, should there be any potential threat to public safety.

"The FBI is aware of the recent link published online that urges attacks against U.S. churches," Ames said. "As with similar threats, the FBI is tracking this matter while we investigate its credibility."

But for stealth not agree :) now some radars can sometimes detect and much stuff in progress for track also are two things detection and tracking coz not same radar frequencies ... IRST system also but to less long range many parameters ...but surely ur aware about it my Friend ;)

As I said on the F-35 thread:

With this President, and judicious use of art of the deal in the buildup he is planning...I bet he could come up with a deal that would make them all happy.

The F-35 is here to stay...it will not be canceled...but he may be able to get the prices lower faster.

A new YF-23 built as a strike fighter bird could work.

Boeing can going to get plenty of work off of what is coming.

If he works the deal right, keeps them all happy with new orders and growth...then perhaps protests do not get filed in the first place.

It just takes some one who can work with them and get the wheels and gears greased.

So we continue to have to preach L/O to those who are filled with doubt and unbelief? If stealth were really able to be locked onto and tracked??? Then do You really think the Chinese would be busting their butts to get J-20 into serious contention.

The answer is of course not? Would the US and partners be spending billions on the F-35 or F-22 upgrades? No. What about those broke Russians? Surely they wouldn't be spending any cash on a technology they could already defeat would they? Nope not gonna happen

I can say that Boeing is NOT HAPPY with Trump. I'll leave it at that.
Bunch of high echelons will be transferring to DC as well.

Late of several month as planned and during several weeks no US CVN in the Persian Gulf

USS George H.W. Bush completes COMPTUEX
Sailors aboard the U.S. Navy’s Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush came one step closer to deployment by completing their composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) on December 21.

The 3-week-long assessment tested the ship’s ability to collaborate with other ships in the strike group based on real-world situations. GHWBCSG conducted various exercises and completed evaluations to certify the CSG for deployment.

“COMPTUEX provides the entire strike group the opportunity to stress our systems and test our tactics and teamwork in combat scenarios before actually entering combat,” said Capt. William Pennington, commanding officer of USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77). “I was extremely impressed with the way our Sailors and our embarked teammates handled themselves under some very dynamic and challenging situations.”

The exercise tested and evaluated GHWBCSG units through complex, scenario-based training exercises.

“Each evolution mimicked potential real-world engagement,” said Pennington. “Carrier strike group (CSG) 4 threw the kitchen sink at us and the confidence we gained in our systems, tactics, and teamwork will serve us well on deployment.”

With COMPTUEX complete, GHWB and the rest of the George H.W. Bush carrier strike group (GHWBCSG) are mission-ready and set to deploy early next year.

The GHWBCSG is comprised of the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush; staffs of carrier strike group 2, carrier air wing 8 and its squadrons; Destroyer squadron 22 staff and its destroyers; and guided-missile cruisers USS Philippine Sea and USS Hue City.

Chinese and Russians going for a mixed Fleet stealth and not for price and strategy reasons they don' t do as USAF as USN in fact more safe, stealth exist since 35 years much things know now for this technology, new radars etc... possible for 10 years except improvments less eventually much less advantageous.
