LOL..OMG, the Navy might as well learn how to cook awfully like the Army.;):p

Unlike the other branches, food is absolutely crucial in the navy especially during deployment. Army etc can go to mcdonalds or a steak house if they want to. Heck almost every single base has fast food on base and nice restaurants right outside!

When you're on a 6 mth deployment food brings comfort and play a key psychological role including morale and other social positives. People need to understand that aspect. In the navy food is so much more than just proteins and calories.

True, but not all soldiers can afford to go out and eat outside the chow hall all the time.

True, but at least it's an option. When you're in the middle of Pacific Ocean you can have all the money in the world and it won't do nothing if you're craving mcD's golden fries or Kung Pao chicken.

Speaking of "cravings", my favorite Chinese restaurant was YAN-KEE Chop Suey, Mr. Yan has long since retired, but nobody since has made shrimp egg foo young, or shrimp egg-roll to his specs. We sometime ate in the restaurant, but most of the time we ordered to go, we always sent our prettiest staff person, and MR. YAN would ask her?? candy lady?? course she said yes. I remind the Honey Badger that life is much easier for pretty ladies, but she doesn't think so? LOL

NEW YORK — The United Technologies Corp. announced Monday it is selling its helicopter manufacturing subsidiary Sikorsky for $9 billion to defense group Lockheed Martin, according to Agence France-Press. Sikorsky manufactures the Black Hawk and Seahawk military helicopters as
well as the Marine One helicopter used by the US president.
In 2014, Sikorsky had some $7.5 billion in sales, but operating profits were down.
The cash transaction with Lockheed is expected to close no later than the first quarter of 2016.
UTC will use the sale to repurchase some of its own shares as an indirect way to reward the company's shareholders.
UTC head Gregory Hayes said in a statement the sale will make sure the company remains a technology leader.

It's kinda sad to see the name Sikorsky will no longer exist once it gets bought out.:(

Hope not... I think LM is a good company but I would hate to see SH-60s etc being call a Lockheed SH 60!
No different than the F-15s etc! It'll always be McDonnell Douglas to me not Boeing LOL but I live here so maybe my thoughts are different than others.

No i think Sikorsky name remains as with United Technologies and ofc better a reputable historical firm.

But it can be annoying LM get Sikorsky yet Boeing* which remains the only other fighter maker close her activity for 2020 max about and after 2020 LM remains the only fighter builder for 10/15 years !, damage better have two in more with a big customers as USAF/USN/USMC there are sufficient US market ! and DOD with the competition effect can get better price.

*2020/21 about if get new orders for Super Hornet with Koweit 28/40 and USN max about 40 no sure right now also Boeing close if don' t have minimum 24 fighters to build a year maybe can down to 18, 1,5/month for a minimum rentability.
For F-15 i think no new orders, finaly F-15SE don' t found Customer, the last SA produced for 2019/20 about.
Fortunately Boeing get the P-8 and do very good stuff with it, delivery on the shedule and in the budget.

Or then Boeing can be back with 6th generation, a market of minimum 200 up to 500 fighters seems for replace F-15E/22, eventually more if F-35C don' t replace all Hornets dépends futur USN choice.

But F-16 remains interesting for LM cause F-35 is stealth, sensor fusion sensitive techn. and he is will not be sold to anyone and less expensive. A F-16 3rd generation block 60 or new with AESA radars etc... remains a very decent fighter and it could have been a very credible USAF alternative definitely it would be already in service.

French opinion to US guys ;)
