If you ever followed the US's tortuous imports of high speed trains from Europe you would be familiar with how the process of the US adopting a foreign design for a vehicle typically is. According to US regulations European trains are just too light and not "crash resistant" enough for supposed safety reasons. But then try to compare the actual safety of European vs US train systems in actual use...

Pretty important platform right there. Now if only they could bring down the cost and up the production rates to truly make it attritable…
