Well, I always have said that there is a strong Feudal structure to power plays at work here, in ways most of the rest of Europe has not seen in centuries, if not the middle ages.

So the Duke of Dnipropetrovsk is out with the King of Kiev and men of the Duke's livery besport themselves on the street of the Kings Capitol! While the King has ordered the Duke men to lay down their arms and submit to royal authority, while dispossessing the Duke of both Title and Property.

The King of course has failed to quell rebellion in three of his provinces. This will often set the other noble houses to consider where best lies their destiny...........
waxing poetic here brother Sampan? the twins have had to read Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, and had a little project, of course I gave them some coaching on Caesar's plaintive cry, "et tu Brute", I rather doubt they were too impressed?? but at least it does remind one that great literature, is a timeless treasure?

Thank you very much.
Partly just to strip the current proceedings of the trappings of modernity to expose the poverty and antiquity of the underlying philosophy. Partly to emphasise the contrast, just in case the Duke of Dnipropetrovsk tries in the near future, to reinvent himself as Comrade Kolomoisky of the Dnipropetrovsk Peoples Republic.

on this we can completely agree, with all of these power bases??? its rather difficult to understand, what all is going on in this extremely volatile region??

as to the antiquity? there is such a great deal of history in this region? you are no doubt getting to the nub of the real issues, one of the reasons we both find master Jura's perspectives so informative no doubt??? have a good day brother, and I rather liked your more poetic perspective?

(the main point of the gazeta.ru article "Kolomoisky Lost War" is, in my opinion, Ko would've been the only competitor to the current Ukrainian President and his Government)

i wonder in what manner did kolomoisky's resignation come about? poroshenko's aide disclosed that he and the ex-governor had met to sign the decree. maybe there was a compromise of some sort, kolomoisky would capitulate in exchange for immunity for his past wrongdoings, and protection of his assets in Ukraine. This is a tremendous boost for poroshenko if he is finally able to establish control over those few intransigent militia units.
