And according to our old friend 捣蛋 on Weibo, Sichuan is slated to conduct its first flight trials with actual warplanes up north.

Was that ever in doubt? You cannot have a proper carrier with a well deck and all that additional internal space assigned for troop accommodation and vehicle storage.
What’s the issue with that?
I don’t see how that’s the case. There is zero reason why wings cannot overhang the flight deck for take off, especially from a catapult.
There is a mistranslation. It should be
"The temporary takeoff position can accommodate only the length of a GJ-21."

While I don't think anyone here thought otherwise, you would be surprise just how many people are unable to grasp that concept. They think carriers are only defined by their deck and the entire volume of the hull is free real estate.
GJ-21s can of course be in the hangar. What 伏尔戈星图 is highlighting is the balance of carrier vs amph assault ship, and that it tilts towards the latter (perhaps a fair bit).
