lol never thought of it that way...damn those bastards have been takin advantage of my strict preferences.
well where i serve we do have m&m or cookies as part of the ration. i just put the ration part in my tac vest and keep the yummy part in my pocket lol. when you are out there diggin trenches in the middle of nowhere this could be the only comfort.

Yea you guys are definitely treated better at least in term of taste haha, I am not sure about elite units or anything. But for a normal infantry in China, the breakfast package consist of a small plastic bottle of gluocse water, some chocolate, chinese crackers, some salted ried chinese kimchi and some other small things all compressed into a bag like above which suppose to provide "enough" salt, suagar and calories for a solider in the morning.....i guess its enough but it just make you feel like you didnt eat anything at all...

I came across this today on the web. The US army has deployed a new type of "FSR" (First Strike Ration) with lighter load and better nutrition. Included in the new ration is... energy bars!

You can buy these bars for $3 USD each here:

For those who are curious enough to try it, 3 bucks is a lot cheaper than buying a case of MRE's!

Yea, what's with the English? Is it suppose to comply with the Geneva Convention?

In reference to those "cakes", does the US, or anyone, still make hardtack?

Where can you get a box of MREs? Instant noodles got banned from import.....

@_@ Where are you that banned instant noodles?!?!?!?

MRE's can be ordered for $80/box, not cheap:

As for English printed on the rations, if they decide to donate them as emergency food aid to another country, it'd come in handy.

And if you really want hardtacts:

The company still sells the same stuff as they did over a century ago.

6 hrs and 30 minutes (assuming at night) North of you. My mom read it out of the newspaper. Donno which other brands are affected but the HK stuff, which are Nissin and Doll Noodle are both banned along with fried dace fish.

For a box of 12 that's surely expensive. Might as well stock up on hardtack and have Nasi Goring instead.....

Are you looking to stock up on emergency rations? There's better choices with longer shelf life, but also more costly. :(

Why the hell do they even need english translation on the thing the first place?
They should omit the english, then when China is at war the soldiers can throw them around and everyone will think they are plastic explosive charges

"Oh shi-GET OUT OF THE TRENCH!"

Actually the English labeling is kind of weird. Most of the Chinese soldiers would probably be unable to understand English. So why English on the package?
