The actual money amount is tiny in the grand scheme of things and irrelevant. What is important is the psychological impact as severe narcissists like Trump cannot bear to admit they lost. It is an agonizing ego injury. That is why he fights tooth and nail against anything that could be construed as him losing even when it is arguably easier and faster to just pay and settle the issue. That is also why he "cancels" out any loss by always claiming something was rigged against him when he loses. Mentally in his mind, that means he didn't "really" lose, since the other side cheated. That face saving mental accounting is what allows him to walk away from an issue, at least temporarily though he will probably return to it in the future. This predictable response to save face and run away or to double down on a course of action that is failing is also how he can be manipulated.
