Step one, sanction everyone and block cheap components. The result, a significant rise in prices.
Step two, implement policies that reduce consumption and make it look like you're reducing prices.

Here’s Trump’s plan to go against China and takeover the world. Good luck with that since the biggest problem remains is everything the US does costs more to do. It’s the reason why the US can’t compete. Then you have that he’s going to be out of office from being voted out or by natural causes. This is going take decades and that if things go smoothly in the US’s favor. Not to say that the Democrats won’t continue on but things get complicated when human rights are going to be violated to implement this and they are going to screw it up as usual. Then you have Russia who likes to play the West’s irritant. Still dreaming of an alliance with Russia who doesn’t like being told what to do to which the US will eventually demand.

To go along with Trump/America's future plan outline in the NSS file,
Blackmail europe+allies into investing into america, force them to make peace with Russians and open ties with Russia,
All this bid to break Russia+China link that is going on right now.
At the same time bully europe+asian countries to break ties with china to isolate them further, American leaders are super scared of not seeing viable ways of halting china's rise.
