The scary thing about all of this is that many of Trump’s economic advisers are all true believers. Meaning they are going full speed ahead with this idiotic tariff policy. This also means there is no backup plan. No acceptance that this policy could fail. In other words they’ll likely double down. And since Trump cares about how he is perceived he won’t back down to look weak.
