Just came out of People's Daily's official Weibo account

"[China decides to lower tariffs on soybeans from a number of Asia Pacific countries to 0] Tariffs committee of the State Council announces that from 1 July, China will lower import tariffs on soybean from a number of Asia Pacific countries, and a list of other goods that will have their tariffs lowered. The list includes agricultural products, petrol chemical commodities, pharmaceutical commodities, plastic goods, rubber tyres, textiles. Out of these products, tariffs on soybeans will be lowered from 3% to 0%."

Most interesting to note here is that structural changes in soybean trade are happening as a result of this trade war. Soybean import tariff are being lowered for APTA countries.

In addition, China aims to add 1.6 million acres to its existing soybean acreage of 21 million. The government is also offering subsidies ranging from $190 to $320 per acre

In addition, China is buying record amounts(3x in 2018) of Russian soybean just across the border.

In addition, Russia is increasing production of soybean in the Amur Region, Primorye Territory and Jewish Autonomous Region. see "2018-CurrentStatusoftheSoybeanIndustryandResearchintheRussianFederation.pdf"

When this is over, China will have a more secure source for her soybean needs and the China market will no longer be available for the American soybean farmers.

Hopefully, US semiconductors will be replaced by the end of trade war! Trump and Navarro dont know what they already got and don't know what they will lose in the trade war.

EEtop.cn is major electronic forum and site.

Yet look at the front page dominated by US semiconductor companies advertisement such as Analog device, Xilinx and Texas Instrument.

Hopefully, with this trade war, this will be getting rid of.

Chinese replacement.

Just absolutely hate the (US) Analog Device Ad blocking navigation on every page!!!!

They are Crazy!!

China can address Eu concern and offer IP protection for their products. Semiconductor is Not EU strong point.

That's US territory.

China can make sure EU stay on its side or neutral while attacking US's semiconductor area.

Easy...the conservative media likes to use the blame game to instill fear to those un inform white Americans that their livelihood or way of life are threaten. Trump is a like a savior to the much hated Obama administration. Deep down it's about race superiority if one want's to delve into the reason why. No I am not trying to stir up about racial fights or debates but pointing out to the obvious desire to the many Trump supporters out there.
LOL bro I guess you'll like how [Chinese] "should be grateful to Trump" according to a guy from Global Times in the vid (I don't how to link it here) inside the tweet

The US holding

hostage no longer affects Chinese society, as the majority sees ZTE as already dead. ZTE’s case has strengthened China’s determination to develop its own basic high-tech industry:

That's already been addressed. Chinese smartphone makers pay licensing dues to Nokia already, and to ARM Holdings, which is opening a branch in China. What the EU maybe more concerned about are copycats of luxury brand products like Louis Vitton. Ironically the European counter to that is to actually buy out the clone makers with the best quality, literally turning their products into official branded ones.

The EU itself is already a highly protectionist bloc.

Anyone notice Trump left Iphone off the first $50 billion tariff assembled out of China ?
That's right,
Trump didn't want put tariff on Iphone assembled out of China . why because for a $650 Iphone, China earns $8 for assembly work, and majority of the profits go to US and other main components supplier from Korea and Taiwan.

That's why Trump left out Iphone off the Tariff.

China should tax very heavily on components Iphone bringing into China for assembly , including those from US, Korea, and Taiwan!.

That will hurt Apple alot
Hurting apple will hurts US stockmarket.

Wo, I read articles saying most US agriculture States people hit hard by China are still supporting Trump, they believe they are doing for sake of the country, wanting a fair trade. They saying hopefully both parties coming to negotiation table. Trade war just started already thinking coming to table???? Hoping for too much.

It has nothing to do with fair trade. Those gullible farmers do not know what Trump and his team actually proposed.

Yes, dropping the trade surplus on it. But they also propose something China will never accept.
That is ending support, and subsidies for tech development and wants China to recognize all US patents. Wow, that's a killer. US patents enforceable in China means no freaking chance for Chinese companies whatsoever, Chinese companies will be liable to be sued by US companies on a daily basis. China will have no future. Made in China 2025 plan dead in water. Reminds me of Chinese second class status to foreigners in China during colonial era. US patents will overwhelm Chinese companies inside China if China surrender and give up its sovereign.

US Farmers hoping too much for China coming to table for concession. Unless China give up its sovereign and let US patents run wild inside China!

Trump is using slogan of fair trade to cover up its hegemonic plans concocted by Navarro and lighthizer. US people got fooled into believing they are Only doing for fair trade. It's only half true, and there's a serious hegemonic motive underneath.

Chinese will be slaves forever if agreed to Trump's demand.

The big picture: With the US and China in the middle of trade war, the Asian nation is trying to move away from its reliance on American companies and develop its own chips. As such, Chinese manufacturer Hygon has reportedly started production of the Chinese-designed “Dhyana” x86 processors, which are based on AMD’s Zen Microarchitecture.

Tom’s Hardware

that the processors are the result of an x86 IP licensing deal between AMD and its Chinese partners. While the US giant said it does not sell final chip designs to these China-based firms, it allows them to design their own processors made specifically for the country’s server market.

The Dhyana chips are said to be virtually identical to AMD’s EPYC CPUs, with the only difference being the unique vendor IDs and family series numbers.

The US has introduced rules relating to company mergers and acquisitions that obstruct China from developing its own chips, yet despite these regulations, AMD announced a joint venture in China back in 2016 that would see processors based on its own CPUs developed in the country. The deal added $293 million to the US firm’s coffers, and AMD will also receive loyalties based on future unit sales.

The agreement states that the final products, which must be “specifically tailored to the needs of the Chinese server market," can only be sold inside of China. To stay within legal boundaries, an elaborate setup of multiple ownership and licensing agreements between AMD and its Chinese partners are in place.

Ultimately, Hygon’s chips are bad news for Intel. The Made In China 2025 initiative, which aims to turn the country from the world’s factory into a global technology leader, has seen investment and incentives offered to local chip producers as a way of increasing domestic production.
