Unpopular opinion: China and Japan should do a "joint" hosting Olympics in 2022 (Tokyo 2021 will get cancelled probably). Opening ceremony in Tokyo, closing ceremony in Beijing. Competition events spread and shared between Beijing and Tokyo. Would go a long ways to improving relations and reducing tension, building goodwill.

Nah, I have negative feelings about Japan. Pity we are located so close to them.

Opinions in China is unanimous -- this is a dumb idea! I hope reason would prevail before the actual Olympics.

They are essentially destroying professional sports with this madness. My blood is boiling. Self-inflicted pain. Unbelievable.

This is ridiculous and harkens back to the worst habits of the old imperial Bureaucrats who loose touch with reality. I hope the people responsible for this farce are swiftly removed from office as a warning and example to others.
