Yesterday, in Newport News, at the Huntington Ingallas Shipbilding, the launch of the Virginia-type SSN-789 Indiana submarine was launched. The ship was built in September 2012, the bookmark was held on May 16, 2015, the baptism ceremony on April 29, 2017 . The first exit to the sea and the commissioning are expected in the first half-middle of next year.

This is already the 6th ship from 8 in the 3rd series, and the 16th representative of the type as such. The 3rd series is equally divided among the main manufacturers of submarines for the US Navy, between Huntington Ingallas and Electric Boat. Each of them now remains Launch 1 ship into the water.
