I did this many times..the big difference is that there were zero female sailors aboard ships at that time..many, many years ago.

After 21 months in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Nimitz is on the fast track preparing for a deployment in 2017

A new member sent me a PM asking how could a ship start flight operations so soon after an extended re-fit. I told that member that the USN never stops training it's sailors.

BUT the main reason is seasoned petty officers(NCO's) that have years of experience serving aboard carriers passing on their knowledge to younger sailors.
