Correct..I once saw a short brawl between Marines and Soldiers at the air terminal in Hickam because some Top Sargent kept calling the Marines Soldiers. Final score.. Marines 1 Soldiers 0.

This reminds me of a plot point in the TV show Jericho when a former U.S. soldier identified the soldiers coming to town as fakes when they used the phrase "semper fi".

Zhanjiang, People's Republic of China (Nov. 16, 2006) - U.S. and Chinese Marines shoot the type-95 rifle at the People`s Liberation Army (Navy)(PLA (N)) 1st Marine Brigade in Zhanjiang, China. The range was one of the last events to take place as part of “Marine Day,” a day for U.S. and PLA (N) Marines to get together and learn from one another and build camaraderie with each other.

Zhanjiang, People’s Republic of China (Nov. 16, 2006) - A marine with a People’s Liberation Army (Navy) (PLA(N)) marine regiment, fights through a combat obstacle course at a naval base here as part of a day of marine capability demonstrations held for Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Adm. Gary Roughead. Several other U.S. military personnel attended, including USS Juneau (LPD 10) Commanding Officer, Capt. John D. Alexander, and a senior officer with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). The demonstration is part of a multi-faceted port visit for Juneau and upcoming search-and-rescue exercise (SAREX) with PLA(N) assets meant to foster mutual understanding, transparency and cooperation between both nations and navies. From the looks of the "obstacle conquest", I take it the US armed forces (despite soldier or marine) have a different emphasis other than agility and reflex...? (like, fire cordination, heavy weight march or something)

I personally think this kind of joint excercise, is much more COMRADESHIP than the more political joint patrol in Haiti. Each party is FEELING the counterpart.
