China should never had joined the war everyone knows North Korean used China then turned to Soviet Union, North Korea used China while it could and then when China wasnt need they went off with Soviets, when in 1991 Soviets was gone North Korea come back to China when they realise they need aid and money.

Had China not interfered today North Korea would have been a economic powerhouse just like South Korea. Just look at the difference between North and South its not hard to see who won the war and which descision was better.

China has had most unfortunate history with so many bad decisions Mao think he could get weapons from Soviets if he fight US and establish military industry instead Stalin never delivered and China was trapped into a war it never had to fight.

If China never entered the korean war today 20 million would be living free life instead its like a human zoo North Koreans are most unfortunate people on planet earth

McArthur had no sense of reality. He was working at possible strategic use of North Korea to overtrhrow Chinese governement using Guomitang guerrillas and nukes. That info was fundamental to enforce Chinese intervention. Please, note that Peng Dehuai denied every Soviet and North Korean atempt to put the Voluntary Army too far from the original borders of both Koreas. Obviously, the Chinese leadership projected a sanitary cordon to kept Americans far from their borders.

Cheers

I think I missed this post... but now that I was reading it... I wonder how does this poster came into such a weird conclusion. What do you mean that North Korea will become an economic powerhouse. Fact is North Korea will ease to exist. No more North Korea but a united Korea that is not going to bore well for China.

Plus most of the heavy industrial bases of China was based in those area (irregardless of when you get Manchuria back), and China will certainly not sit there because UN and a potentially hostile Korea was sitting just outside his gate.

You have to get this right my friend, China at that time is already a communist country and she didn't like the west, so she make a choice to enter Korea and help North Korea push her opposition back. Better brother communist than unknown capitalist.

US was never going to cross the Yalu river they just wanted to reach that river so no weapons comes from Soviets into Korea

And how was China going to know that US was never going to cross Yalu river... and for the matter of fact, how do you know US was never going to cross Yalu river? Because you tell them not to?

The history that you read now didn't indicate that US had cross the Yalu river, but it never actually said that US would never cross Yalu River, how do you know that US didn't cross Yalu River is because China helped North Korea to push back the 'invaders'?

Plus even if US and the UN never did want to cross Yalu river, how would anyone know that? You have to put your shoes in the leaders of China at that time, and not come back and say who is right and who is wrong after reading some history text.

And I really do not know how and where you get all your weird conclusions... something about Soviet weapons and Mao wanted soviet weapons and stuff, if you have any references, you should link them here so all of us could read about them.
