Interviewer: The Leader of the Opposition said something about our planes being shot down. How many were shot down?

Swamy: Five. Pakistan sent their planes and shot down ours.

Interviewer: Okay, was China also involved in this, sir?

Swamy: The planes were from China.

Interviewer: Okay.

Swamy: It wasn’t the Chinese people themselves. The planes that China gave to Pakistan were very good planes and the ones from France weren’t as good. Their aircraft shot down five of ours.

Interviewer: You mean to say Rafale didn’t perform well?

Swamy: Rafale is not sufficient for our country. There was corruption involved in it, we can’t discuss that as long as Modi is there, because he won’t let it happen.

They seem confident in the quality of their hardware… I might not be on top of things but didn’t China deescalate tensions with India a year ago? What potential threat is there?

Don’t the Indians just see China as a threat period, like regardless of whatever position or situation they are at.

Plus there was that Bangladeshi base re-activation or something earlier.

Bangladesh's reported plans to revive a World War II-era air base - Lalmonirhat in Rangpur division - with help from the Chinese has rung alarm bells in the upper echelons of the Indian administration.

How come with some of the highest population densities around the world, we get the absolute worst footage. I think Rus/Ukraine has spoiled me in terms of what reasonable combat footage should look like. This is not a twitter dump thread, can we please get exercise a bit more discretion when posting footage? A random fire in the distance is poor evidence for anything.
Well there's a variety of possible reasons for this, such as government initiated blackouts, limited internet access, limited public cameras to capture strikes, etc. We've seen India employ a very high level of censorship that blocked thousands of social media accounts.

I think in the age of social media it's hard to avoid such clips, most footage even credible analysts and think tanks are using to come to a conclusion is from Twitter/TikTok/FB.

He mentioned details about the Rafale being shot down, which reveals that the Pakistan Air Force has sufficient electronic warfare capabilities. When the PL-15 is in "mad dog mode," they use the J-10CE's electronic warfare system to briefly suppress the Rafale’s radar, allowing for a silent kill.
This method reminded me of intelligence I’ve seen from India — on the last day, the HQ-9B in Pakistan failed to function because it was temporarily jammed by electronic warfare, which allowed a successful attack on a Pakistan Air Force base.

I’ve also seen a Russian military intelligence report. According to Russian intelligence sources, when India’s northern fighter formation was attacked, the missile attacks came from the side. The Russian source assessed that the PL-15E’s NEZ (No-Escape Zone) is between 40km to 50km, and the kills in the northern area were extremely dense. Analysis of the terrain showed that the mountains in the north are very suitable for concealment.
In addition, most of the PL-15E debris was found in the direction of the southern formation, and the south only recorded one Rafale being hit. This suggests that the PL-15E attacks on the southern group did not achieve the expected results, while the northern area saw concentrated combat effectiveness.
Therefore, the Russians believe that the attacks on the Su-30MKI and MiG-29 in the north came from the side, while the attack on the Rafale in the south was head-on.

Yeah, that sounds a lot like cope to me. Chinese AAMs and avionics being far more advanced than whatever prehistoric junk Russia has to make do with.

The reason the Indian Air Force command center used unencrypted channels, I suspect, is that the Rafale's data link was jammed, causing the frontline Rafales to become isolated "islands." As a result, they had to use unencrypted radio broadcasts for communication. After detecting the explosion of BS001, they immediately began evasive maneuvers, which caused at least three PL-15E missiles to miss their targets (no aircraft debris was found near the discovered missile remnants).
