Relationship is a bit more complicated - while J-10C certainly has way larger radar(which is a primary factor - and J-10C is particularly strong there, if understand correctly - best within class), to some degree Rafale should equal it out through the presense of second engine (it gives aircraft superior power and power agility).

I would take a substantial advantage in detection range over superior engine performance any day. Second engine also comes with increased procurement, operational, and maintenance costs.

By power and power agility I meant for radar and other power-hungry systems (ew).

But yes, j-10c is that simple guy who can.
Larger radar, longer stick, superior acceleration, superior supersonic agility, lowered rcs. All that on one big engine.
See first, hit first, hit hard, get the h out.
