The Rafale was claimed to be downed near Bhatinda, 70 kms from the border as crow flies. So probably was returning to the base at that point.
Or just taken off.

I won’t even dignify this cope with a verbal response. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words so…

If you are talking about the CNN, they clearly mentioned "according to Pakistani officials." If you have something else, post it.

Fair enough. Guess we will have to leave it at "war isn't fair".

The vice president briefed President Donald Trump on the plan, then spoke with Modi at noon ET on Friday, making clear to the Indian prime minister that the White House believed there was a high probability for dramatic escalation as the conflict went into the weekend, the administration officials said. Vance encouraged Modi to have his country communicate with Pakistan directly and to consider options for de-escalation, the officials said. The behind-the-scenes details of the US involvement have not previously been reported.

At that point, the officials said, the US believed the nuclear-armed neighbors were not talking, and it needed to get them back to the bargaining table. Vance also outlined to Modi a potential off-ramp that the US understood the Pakistanis would be amenable to, the officials said, though they did not offer details.

This might require reading comprehension beyond the average Indian, but do try:

- Vance wouldn't need to brief Modi on Modi's own plan would he?
- Modi was told to call Pakistan to de-escalate if he doesn't want said plan to execute, which Modi did didn't he?
- Vance was even nice enough to tell Modi the term of surrender Pakistan would accept, lol

War isn't fair that's for sure, but I think attacking civilians then getting promptly smocked followed by surrender isn't really war is it?

An interesting tidbit. The last time Indian Air Force air to air kill was in 1971. They haven't been able to shoot down a single Pakistani Air Force Fighter Jet since then.
In the past India generally held all the cards in South Asia. They could get away with a lot of things. PK wasn't in a position to do much.

But it seems to be slipping. Dunno why. I wonder how much China had to do with it.

If true, even the HQ system won't be able to be mocked so easily.
We saw many times over last years, leaking isn't exactly special for AA systems.

Overwhelming defenses and ensuring sufficient leakage is combination is ELINT and math.
Pakistan just doesn't have enough capability to seriously strain Indian ability to overwhelm - too few systems of too few types with too little ammo and/or channels.
