If it was the PLAAF, the pilot would have been ordered to sit quietly until the canapy can be properly repaired.

The are a couple of problems with the F22 that they are fixing.
Leaking access panels has led to some corrosion issues. They have developed new panels (in titanium i think, dont qoute me on that.)
The structural integrity of the plane is lower than estimated. The titanium "booms" had not been heat treated properly, and are therefor more susceptible to metal fatigue. There are no flying restrictions because of this, but its not going to be cheap to fix. Estimated 100 million dollars, though a newspaper qouted 1 billion.
