Still need more mods only for political threads. ...

No, plain and simply as a very harsh contradiction: WE don't need "more mods only for political threads", in fact we need a strict ban of every political thread!

Posting about pets, flowers, racing cars ore nudity is off topic in the same way politics are and whoever wants to post about pets, flowers, racing cars ore nudity should leave and search for a forum related to pets, flowers, racing cars ore nudity!

In fact I have enough and these constant provoking off-topic posts lead me constantly and repeatedly to the point to leave!

I know, several topics are heavily interwoven with politics, but there is not the slightest reason in every flagship-thread to bring in the Sino-US competition, the Sino-Indian-conflict, the China-Taiwan dispute and so on. Those who - and there are several who visit and post - only in these political threads, shall leave, but I'm not interested in constantly cleaning up that mess, issuing warnings and bans only since some stupid nerds cannot hold their horses and pretend to spread their agenda.

Obviously if there's no active discussion there's no need for moderation. However, why have a forum at all then? Why not just create a wiki?

We've had complete bans on political topics before, and each time, the result was a pretty dead SDF. People want to have discussions on political matters, especially in this era of intense US-China rivalry.

No one is suggesting you should be doing all the work. On the contrary, we are proposing ideas to reduce your workload.

The thing was about lowering requirements and recruiting mods only for the political section so that mods like you who are military focused and you are very busy, you wont have to waste your time on useless political threads.

isn't that a win-win? From what I have seen the military section is tightly (for good reason) moderated. So why would you care if more mods joined and they were restricted only to the political section. Its not like they would come in and start moderating the military section.

Nobody wants you to leave. You are working hard on military news, analysis, posting here, moderating, and then also having to deal with the (sometimes) toxic political section.

As I (and I suppose many others) believe that political threads are a necessary evil for keeping the forum alive, maybe having more mods only for the political section would also help the current mods by dumping the grunt work of policing the political threads to the new mods

Here is an example list:
Super Moderators: Pol. - Mil. Sections
Normal Moderators: Pol. section only

Anyway, these are just suggestions for the administrator @WebMaster and your whole mod team to consider.

Thanks for your suggestion and to @solarz too!

But then there must be a very strict separation between purely military related topics for which a much stricter - aka lower - level of political content is allowed and a section which I will ignore.

Definetely. Even me who I am frequent political thread user, I heavily dislike seeing politics or unrelated discussions in military-focused threads e.g in the Taiwan military thread talking about nuclear war or whatever

Warn and ban. No mercy

I've long advocated for a separation of forums based on technical and non-technical content. Discussions about the *performance* of weapons systems should be in the technical section, while discussions about the *use* of such weapon systems should be in the non-technical section.

Sometimes I need a bit longer to learn. ;)
