Yes the Putin is at least a Yellow and should be moving to an orange threat level, as his popularity???? starts to take a hit---- and it will no doubt start to suffer when the Russian people realize this despot is on a reign of terror, he will feel more pressure to "take his shirt off, and chase tigers with a spear????" and yes, you can quote me on that!

Any SSBN, even those with fewer missiles, are "Fearsome Nuclear weapons Systems."

Any nation that can get one...will get one or more. They move that nation immediately into an entirely different "club," or strategic position.

Israel's Dolphin class boats can carry only a very few missiles with a rather limited range...but enough so that its local enemies know what will happen if they ever push Israel over the edge with any type of abject strategic thereat.

India is doing the same with their new

class boats...but I am sure India will ultimately have the larger capability vessels too.

Exactly, the more capability you have, the more the other guy has to wonder if its worth it, you want him to realize ahead of time, that its not!

Aut Translation :
China currently has at least four nuclear submarines class "Jin" (Project 094), capable of carrying ballistic missiles (SSBN). As reported by local media today, because of the high security of the project was previously known only three such submarines.
It is reported that each of the nuclear-powered ships capable of carrying up to 12 intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) "JL-2" (JL-2). According to the Pentagon, the range of these ICBMs with multiple reentry warhead and blocks of individual guidance is about 7400 Km.
Class submarines "Jin" is the most perfect SSBN standing armed naval People's Liberation Army (PLA Navy). At least three of these submarines are based in the area of responsibility of the Southern People's Liberation Army Navy fleet on Hainan Island
I have some dates for building, yet seems short, maybe ?
The three first : 409, 410 and 411 in service since 2007, 2010 and 2013 build to Huludao Bohai.
Based to Shakizou/Jiangezhuang close Qingdao and Yalong Bay/Yulin, 1st and 2nd Submarine Base, get also SSN 091/093.
It was annouced 094 with new JL-2 begin in 2014 deterence patrol, no confirmation right now.
Look like Russian Delta and also Indian Arihant, is deemed noisy.

Naval Today said:
The UK’s submarine industry will benefit from £285 million of investment to continue design work for the Royal Navy’s next generation of nuclear deterrent submarines. The Successor submarine is designed to be one of the most stealthy submarines in the world. It will also be the largest, safest and most technically advanced submarine ever built in the UK.

Under current plans, four Vanguard submarines – which currently maintain the UK’s nuclear deterrent – will be replaced from 2028.

The release of funding for the design work is within the existing Successor programme’s £3.3 billion Assessment Phase. The funding forms part of the MoD’s commitment to spending £163 billion on equipment and equipment support over the next 10 years to keep Britain safe. That includes new strike fighters; more surveillance aircraft; hunter killer submarines; two aircraft carriers; and the most advanced armoured vehicles.

The Successor programme currently employs around 2,200 people in the UK, working for BAE Systems, Babcock and Rolls-Royce. For BAE Systems alone, the funding will sustain over 1,400 jobs on a programme that has already engaged with more than 240 suppliers.

The work is largely based at the home of the UK’s submarine manufacturing industry in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria but also across the UK including sites in Raynesway in Derby and Bristol.

BAE Systems will now proceed with an additional £257 million worth of design work, with a further £22 million at Babcock and £6 million at Rolls-Royce.

All Royal Navy submarines will be based at Faslane by 2020, including the Astute and Trafalgar class attack submarines.

The U.S. Navy operates three kinds of submarines—nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs), nuclear-powered cruise missile submarines (SSGNs), and nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs). The SSNs and SSGNs are multi-mission ships that perform a variety ofpeacetime and wartime missions. They do not carry nuclear weapons.
The Ohio replacement program (ORP) is a program to design and build a new class of 12 ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs) to replace the Navy’s current force of 14 Ohio-class SSBNs. The Ohio replacement program is also known as the SSBN(X) program. The Navy wants to procure the first Ohio replacement boat in FY2021, with advance procurement (AP) funding starting in FY2017. The Navy has identified the Ohio replacement program as its top priority program.
The Navy currently operates 14 Ohio (SSBN-726) class SSBNs. The boats are commonly called Trident SSBNs or simply Tridents because they carry Trident SLBMs.
Ohio-class SSBNs are designed to each carry 24 SLBMs, although by 2018, four SLBM launch tubes on each boat are to be deactivated, and the number of SLBMs that can be carried by each boat consequently is to be reduced to 20, so that the number of operational launchers and warheads in the U.S. force will comply with strategic nuclear arms control limits.
The first eight boats in the class were originally armed with Trident I C-4 SLBMs; the final 10 were armed with larger and more-capable Trident II D-5 SLBMs.
