I just got recommended a YouTube video titled, "Italy's Legend and Big Hope: Antonino Pizzolato's on His Way to Triumph in Paris." I'm thinking, there is no medal threat from Italy I know of, so I looked up his medals record: 1 bronze World's + 1 bronze Olympic. Only golds are from European comps. They call this dude a legend LOLOL. They say he can win in Paris, yeah, if the top 6 other people including both Chinese lifters get injured and pull out LOL. On top of that, this dude himself is currently injured!

Oh, you probably meant the 2012 Olympics 94kg category where 8 people out of 21 contestants got DQ'd for doping. The gold, silver, bronze, and 4th place finishers were all DQ'd and the 5th place finisher took the gold. The silver and bronze went to the original 7th and 8th place finishers LOL. That fiasco left a scar on weightlifting that, along with the IWF's current stubborn refusal to cooperate with the IOC's anti-doping standards (the IWF is run by a bunch of old Soviets who do not want any reform), has led to weightlifting's diminished medal allocation at the Olympics and may eventually lead to the rejection of the sport's Olympic contention altogether.
