Shenyang next gen combat aircraft (?J-XDS)

It's to be expected that they flap more when the aircraft is turning, which was most of the footages that we've seen before, vs flying still.

We’ve only seen it doing low altitude turns or landing. The very flight regimes where you’d expect a stealth aircraft to be at its least stealthiest. And the time when any aircraft would have the most control surface movement or flutter (depending on weather conditions).

Or do some people think they should sacrifice safety for “coolness”?

Undoubtedly, in the skies high above Lop Nur, the J-50 has flown freely and smoothly, with minimal wingtip flutter that does little to compromise any VLO properties of the aircraft.

If this really were an issue that compromised the VLO performance of the aircraft, I have faith enough in SAC to have discovered it very early on, and to have adjusted course in design.

I think they are just pre-empting it so they can still claim J-50 is a copy. I mean there has been some arguments on the twitters that the “concept” art/design of an aircraft, later to be named F-47, has been around and worked on since 2014 and the work on J-50 supposedly started around 2018.

Despite J-50 actually being at the stage of a flying prototype prior to the finalisation of the F-47 design, people are still somehow claiming J-50 is just a shittier copy of F-47.

At this point if mental gymnastics was a real sport then Americans will definitely take gold in any and all competitions.
Mental gynamstic is one thing, but this is more a Freudian slip: they really do think F47 is a copy of J50 and they're insecure about it, which opens up a lot of psyop attack vectors

Same as whenever they say "China is just trying to scare us", which is an admission they're scared.
