We will find out in due time. I think it's reasonable for fc31 to be sold to several middle eastern countries as we have discussed. Egypt was always one of the countries on my list of possibilities. There is also the pl15 to Egypt rumor.

Rather unexpected and a major surprise if the news is true, considering that:

1. J-31/FC-31 comes after J-35, which means that J-31/FC-31 would only enter service (perhaps) several years after the J-35 does (albeit not much of a big deal, as deriving a land-based variant from its original carrier-based design is much easier than vice-versa);
2. Egypt is said to be one of the prospective customers for the Su-57 and/or Su-75; and
3. I thought Saudi Arabia and/or the UAE would be the first customer(s) of the J-31/FC-31?
The Egyptian-Russian contract for the SU-35 deal has not been cancelled, but Egypt has requested the development of the Egyptian SU-35 aircraft with updates to it, and it has not been canceled, but the delivery will take place during the year 2023. The Russians will implement the required updates.
Egypt does not want the USA to be a major supplier of weapons to Egypt, because America is exploiting this matter in pressure, whether to develop, modernize, or ammunition these weapons, or even the methods of using them. Therefore, Egypt turned to Europe, South Korea, and India as an alternative to America.
Egypt wanted 50 additional MIG-35 aircraft. The Russians did not succeed in developing the AESA ZHUK-AE radar to the required level. Therefore, the deal may buy Egypt from China 50 FC-31 aircraft, and also 50 MIG-29M / M2 aircraft may be developed through China.

The F-16A & MIRAGE-2000EM/BM exit program is scheduled. Egypt may expand to obtain FC-31 aircraft to replace 100 F-16A BLOCK-15/32 & MIRAGE-200 aircraft with FC-31 aircraft as one of the solutions, especially in the case of production under license from Egypt. China in Egypt
Saudi Arabia and the UAE are interested in acquiring the FC-31 if it reaches a similar level as the F-35

I would have laughed the part I highlighted 2-3 year ago... However, now, after recent events, I think Saudis might really start pivoting to China/Russia and J-31 might be a contender indeed.

IIRC the US made sales of the F-35 to the Gulf Arab States conditional of their recognition of Israel as a state. After they did that, F-35 sales were supposed to proceed, but the US then pulled the rug under them claiming for example that the UAE couldn't be using Huawei telecoms equipment if they wanted to get the F-35. That was when the rumors of the UAE getting non-US stealth fighters started bubbling up again. Both the FC-31 and claims they would buy the Su-75 when that came out. The Russians even brought the demonstrator of Su-75 to the weapons trade show in the Gulf.

Egypt is already balking at taking delivery of the Su-35s they ordered because of CAATSA. The aircraft might end up in either Iran or the Russian Air Force instead. I also do not see Russia exporting the Su-57 until Project Metropolis i.e. Su-57M is complete. Su-57M is in flight testing right now. Then the factory needs to expand production and it won't happen in less than two years I think. Right now they are building the new paint shop for the Su-57 which will take at least a year.

As for the FC-31 before it racks up any major sales China needs to a) manufacture it for themselves b) make their own engines for it c) export to someone else first like to Pakistan.
Hi
in case of Pakistan I’m pretty sure once IAF decide what they want to buy as a stealth
PAF has no other choice then to procure J31/35 whatever is available at that time until then J10
good to go
thank you

And who cares about laughing on your part in the first place
Very simple things are business contracts
There are alternatives for China such as the SU-75 / KF-21 and even the SU-57
There are also alternatives to the Americans
If it is not met by methods that are met by another party, whoever has ignored the US restrictions since 2013 will not depend on another country

Another article coming out from Tactical Report which enforces the warrant of caution WRT to the FC-31 deal with Egypt.

Why would Egypt need JH-7As? Besides, the XAC already ended JH-7A production in 2017.

That is, unless Egypt want to buy second-hand JH-7As, although I doubt China would sell second-hand JH-7As when the PLA needs them in sufficient numbers for the upcoming confrontation in the Westpac.

Tactical Report is always looking for excitement and considers any talks or offers from any country as a deal and does not have credibility

Egypt generally does not buy used fighters since 2004
But the Chinese offer may be related to naval attack aircraft to support the Egyptian navy as a low cost platform
The JH-7A is armed with a series of missiles and ammunition, and it is a platform for the following ammunition:
CM-302
CM-400AKG
HD-1A
KF-98A
KF-088C
YJ1000

MIRAGE-2000 AND ALPHJET NEAR END OF LIFE
Thus, it may be a deal to pass the purchase of large quantities of ammunition that Egypt is interested in Like the PL-15
