Regardless, the simple fact is Russia is no longer the former Soviet Union. (Super Power) Nor, can they afford to develop and replace most of their existing Weapon Systems! Sooner or later they will have to import Weapons and they most likely will come from China. It's only a matter of time. (mark my words)
Don't compare the Soviet Union to today's China. The Soviet Union was trash. China operates on a completely different level to the USSR.

I wasn't comparing the former Soviet Union with China today. I was simply making the point that Russia today no longer has the resources of a Super Power. Like she did when she was part of the former USSR. (i.e. Soviet Union) So, she can't afford to develop and build new weapon system across the board!

Yes, it is being discounted.
Just stop. Further posts on this topic about "Russian procurement of FC-31/J-XY/J-35" will be deleted, both in this thread and the J-XY thread.
What is the issue with debating Russia acquiring the "FC-31/J-XY/J-35"? Last I check China one wants to export the type. Two, China and Russia are friends, Three, Russia has few options and limited resources. Honestly, maybe I came to the wrong forum???

Because there is currently no indication, rumour or prospect of Russia being interested in the aircraft, thus any such discussion will simply be unguided speculation and this thread is for discussing information, pictures, news and developments about the aircraft that at minimum needs to be guided by credible rumours or indicators of something being likely to occur.

If we had rumours of Russia seeking to buy the aircraft, then it would be appropriate to discuss it here. But right now, it is not productive and would be a distraction from a major flagship thread's intended purpose.

If you want to have this discussion at the current point, I advise you to perhaps go to the "Russian Military Thread" in the World Armed Forces part of this forum.

Also, you are new here, so just FYI -- if a moderator writes in bolded blue or red font, it means that it is formal moderator statements and that such statements should not be quoted and responded to. Continuation of doing so means users may be penalized for it.

Rumor and Speculation is what forums and debates are all about. I'll go someplace else.........

Please don't misinterpret. For long time Russian and Chinese military watchers, of which this forum is full, it's obvious there is no J-35 deal anytime soon, if at all. There's a certain context you pick up when you've been following and analyzing the same topic for many years.

Speculation is fine, but not appropriate for this thread. There are others on this forum where this discussion is appropriate.

Plus, you could start a new thread dedicated to this topic.

The point we're trying to convey is that this specific speculation is not appropriate for this thread.

The thread is simply titled "Shenyang FC-31 / J-31 Fighter Demonstrator". That seem pretty broad to me.....Plus, honestly such debates easily go back in forth in countless directions. This is the point of any forum in the first place. Which, is to foster discussion and to look at the topic of hand from many different directions. In turn this is what makes any forum interesting. As you may see the subject from a direction that you didn't consider in the beginning. Of course I am not talking about letting any thread run wild either. Yet, a fair amount of discretion should be allowed. Again I wish everyone luck but doesn't sound like this forum is for me.......
