Shenyang FC-31 / J-31 Fighter Demonstrator

just a few years ago. (2010?)there's a report from Chinese website that shenyang submitted there stealth fighter concept design,but eventaully lost out to chengdu.was the picture shenyang proposal?
was the shenyang design been revive?

Well, I guess it alleviates somewhat when you already had the J-20 out first, as oppose to the other way round, where people could accuse shenyang of ripping off western designs and the Chengdu one being a later improvement.

Actually, I hope one of the institutes will come up with a clone of F-22, with the exact same appearance but slightly smaller in payload and reduced capabilities. It would give proper meaning back to the term "copy". And just to rub it in, they should offer this aircraft for exclusively for export.

Posted over there at the CDF reportedly related to SAC's future fighter ... however (sadly ) I can't read it ! So, can anyone help to translate or summarise ??

Why not? They doing pretty good, of course, it's no comparison to the J-10 series and J-20. I was hoping either Shanyang or Chengdu can do a Chinese version of JSF F-35 VSTOL type.

i don't think china need a VSTOL aircraft now. maybe in the future

they accuse chengdu J-20 of copying "almost all aircraft in existence in western and russia"
You can imagine what they will say if shenyang came with a design resembling f-22 and t-50

if there is an exclusively export steath aircraft it should be a singke engine.

China should be working on a VSTOL fighter. I wouldn't contest the US's ability to strike Chinese airfields in a conventional war. The Kosovo War showed the US and NATO couldn't destroy hidden Serb armor even with all their advanced technology.

Shenyang lost out to Chengdu for the PLAAF funding, but Shenyang is believed to be building its own fighter with private funding.

If SAC 'copies' F22, maybe they'll also copy the way F22 kill its pilots with poisonous gas then the west will have nothing to worry about.

Then, it'll be dumb to say so because even now they still haven't solved the oxygen problem, it may be a design issue. They blame the dead pilot for not being able to fly without oxygen.
Any plane that don't have the oxygen problem can't be a F22 'copy'.
