Sorry, but if I read this statement correctly ...

So was that gif image of the landing gear going up a manipulation? I would really like see a pic without the landing gear.

... then You indeed suggested that it was manipulated.

Has PLAAF endorsed this projet? i read somewhere here that shenyang had pay this project out of its money, hopping that PLAAF would pick it up. I know its complete speculation, but somebody brought it up.

even if it's speculation, it's somewhat supported by unbelievable openness regarding project, just to mention [barely masked] test article transportation along the public roads and showcase at Zhuhai
can you imagine something like that with J-20?

thus, seems that SAC choose itself what level of openness it should choose like it was their own product, while it still uses government funded fundamental research and tech in, say, low observables sector
from the other hand, this again make you asking why much less publicity surrounds flight tests (if they going on at all) :/

Well I only asked if they were manipulated because gif images are just a bunch single images put together in sequence. Since we haven't seen any single images (because that one split second with wheels up looks very nice) from that gif file, I was wondering if it was one of the many images you see fan boys play with. Like when the J-20 first came out and all we saw were pics of the wheels down, some fan boys removed the landing gear themselves.

i don't know if it is a new image, but considering the length of rd93 engines and reported dimensions of j31, it is quite unlikely the weapons bay would stretch all the way to the rightmost red line. More realistic limit would be the the line to the left of it, though it too seems to have been drawn a bit too far towards the engines. the saw toothed area seems to be a bit in front of that line, not under it.

That being said, it still doesn't make much sense as the plane would still feature humongous weapons bay, almost 4,5 meters long, meaning a bit longer than j20. But i guess it is within the realm of possible.

The position of the main undercarriage legs is also the position of a major bulkhead. The weapons bay will end at that bulkhead or in front of that.
