Russian Su-57 Aircraft Thread (PAK-FA and IAF FGFA)

This is no doubt the best looking Flanker, and the T-50 is the best looking of all the 5th gen wannabees or actual 5th gen, those good looks may work against L/O. It is aerodynamically a very straight forward aircraft. No doubt it does fly as well as it looks? and as Kwai has stated those white wheels will def show any grease leaks or brake fluid issues.
If i only think about beauty i do not like any 5th generation fighters, all are ugly, i am more retro, F-15, F-14, F-16 are much more beautiful and sexier, if i am honest i like the P-51 more in terms of beauty, stealth makes aircraft uglier.

If you go just for pure beauty as a flying thing shapes are rounded, the C-series is a true beauty

This aircraft is far more beautiful than PAKFA

the Tomcat is far more beautiful, no stealth ruining its beauty

No-no, I appreciate the affirmation, and am glad to see her back to work, that would also affirm my thinking that they didn't have any major snafu's returning her to flight, and that friends is the real advantage to pulling 6-1s fuse off the line to rebuild her, rather than trying to piece 5-1 back together. It greatly simplifies the process, but as I noted earlier it is still a big job. She will no doubt be up to snuff, and it won't surprise me to see her become one of the lead "air-show" birds?
Yes, I DO like that paint!

I just like PAKFA because it looks like the early F-14 mock up 303, the Russians seem enamored with the F-14, since the MiG-29 to PAKFA all their jets are in one way or another variants of the F-14

Perhaps that is the reason you like it

Roger that, and the F-15 is probably the most beautiful of them all, to admit I was hoping to see the canted verts on the F-15 Silent Eagle. I know lots of folks like the F-14 over the F-15, but as a pilot, as an "object da-art" the F-15 is the cleanest and sweetest of all. Doing it all aerodynamically, no tricks, all treats?

I loved it long after the Raptor came along, BUT, I was up close and personal with the F-22 at Oshkosh for its debut in Wisconsin, WOW! I had never seen anybody do a tail-slide in a fighter, at Airshow Center, nor have I ever seen a full zoot fighter crawl down airshow center at 85knots. I was a believer after that, love the F-15, but the Raptor, is the "alien bird", beating the air into submission, then lovingly re-embracing it during the seamless high speed pass.

Raptor will be the reigning queen, long after the AFB is dead and gone to meet his maker? and you can quote me on that! not because I think so, but because it is true! Make no mistake, the Raptor is the total package, it will continue to define 5th Gen, because nothing else really comes close? Money was no object, like the P-51, the Raptor is a single purpose air-superiority fighter, even though they both do a fine job as strike aircraft.

Could be, I have also seen the F-15 and the F-14 at air-show center, and while I think the F-15 is a much more honest aircraft to fly and maintain, I was "very moved" to see the "Tom-Kat" flown to its limits, particularly a very, very, LOW altitude, "Full Burner", tight radius turn, and when those wings sweep full aft the TomKat has a very "organic" curvy kool presence, much like the Flanker, which is still one of my real favorites!

Well pray for me brothers, I'm off to church very shortly, time to shift gears and get into the Lukan acct of Zech and Elizabeth, and "John the Baptist", very kool as well? NO?

Once i was on the deck of the Kitty Hawk, i touched the F-14, i have seen the F-15 many times, cute aircraft but in person the Hornet looks the neatest of all, but the F-14 for me is the thing, even PAKFA looks ugly behind it, the Flanker well is cute but still looks uglier, the MiG-29 is cute but looks shorter and a bit too short, the F-14 makes PAKFA cry

Of course the cute Tomcat in combat has no chance, but if the US navy was less willing to spend money, i think just have added thrust vectoring to the F-14, more powerful engines, AESA radars and i am sure it would be as good as Su-35.

Truly Tomcat is the aircraft i really like, if i would have been american i would wanted to be an F-14 pilot

... and you please do for us!

Yes Sir! with great pleasure I ask the Lords blessing on each of you and your people!

and if you and B787 will come visit me here in Central Obamastan, we will go and spend the day, running our loving little fingers over the F-14, F-4, F-100, and even the sweet little Chance Vought A7 Corsair, maybe Jeff and BD would join us and give us the back-ground on those sweet Navy Birds and their Ships? Those are all at the Prairie Aviation museum in Bloomington, Il. then we'll fly over to Quincy and check out those Mig-29s? LOL

Thanks, i have seen lost of american jets, but as a Christian, i only like them like machines, recently i am more interested on jet airliners, like MS-21, C-series, E-170 etc etc.

If you have seen the F-14 while has no faceting like PAKFA, it is more or less the same machine, concept 303B was Grumman`s fixed wing F-14 variant, it is quiet similar to PAKFA, PAKFA only difference is stealth makes it more angular, and the 303 has no internal weapons bays, but with a little of imagination when the F-14A deployed its wing gloves well you can see a rudimentary LEVCON, true Tomcat today is retired, but PAKFA looks more to the Tomcat than the Su-27.
See both F-14 and PAKFA have their vertical tails on top of the engines, even both jets have tiny ones.
If i am honest stealth makes for ugly jets, but of course people go for the most modern and advanced jets with the more powerful weaponry and capability.
But i hope advances in radar force designers to quit destroying aerodynamics just for the sake of stealth
