I found this, model of proposed Russian nuclear powered orbital tug Zeus, displayed at MAKS recently:

The smaller one with the copper coloured radiators is the variant with ion engine. The giant one is a scaled up version with some kind of plasma engine. The two in the back are historical US-A and US-P spacecrafts (also powered by reactors) for size.

I don't think anyone doubts that Russia can make military equipment more cost effective than western countries.

Whats surprising is the fact this 5th generation jet is purportedly cheaper than previous generation Russian jets.

My question would be: If SU-57 is seen as too expensive due all tech inside how can this new SU-75 be many times cheaper while having similar tech inside and why isn't Rus airforce interested? Why not abandon SU-57 if SU-75 is playing in same league but with much much lower price.

I'll wait and see before I believe these claims.

I suspect that Russia will be the primary customer for this, reduced-price, platform.

As of now:

0, Much smaller(literally half as light) thank Su-57;
1, One simpler engine instead of two more advanced ones;
2, Much simpler set of electronics - no comprehensive multi-band radar array set, no laser self-defense, etc;
3, leveraging already existing equipment, electronics, armament, and even frame parts as much as possible;
4, more modern design practices;
5, experience.

To put it bluntly - it's an attempt to cut the last 20% of capability which cost 80% of the money. Especially since much of this 20% capability isn't exactly needed by anyone but Russia itself.

As of RuAF itself... well, if RuAF wants to actually someday get its air fighting strength to a big 3 level - it probably will have to. The currently chosen setup is costly and ineficient.
