perhaps?
there is a huge difference between a 20mm M61 rotary cannon and a 57mm recoil operated Autocannon.
In the M61 which is the Heart of the Phalanx the system is composed of multiple barrels each with it's own chamber and breach. The system is loaded by motor and fired by electric charge. this is aided by the small size of the 20x102mm round making loading and ejection cycle easier.
In essence it's like a half dozen barrel and breach assemblies spinning around a central shaft with a single Fire control group.
The BM 57 is an update of a single barrel recoil operated gun this is basically a manual operation where the gun uses energy of recoil to cycle in new rounds. Since there is only a single barrel you don't want and at the size of the 57x348mm Round Need to accelerate fire to the same level as it would cook of the gun. by the way I found a third report stating 120 rounds per minute.

300 rounds per minute for a 57mm gun is flat out ridiculous. Even naval mounted guns that benefits from a much larger and stable platform and capable autoloading systems can only fire 200 rounds per minute at best.
For such a tiny mount like a BMP, that rate of fire can flip over the entire vehicle.

Russia's 'practically unlimited' -range missile looks like an embarrassment after it reportedly lasted for just 2 minutes and 22 miles...

safe_image.php

"A Russian cruise missile that the country touted as having 'practically unlimited' range appears to be falling short.

The cruise missile, which Russian President Vladimir Putin unveiled at a Russian Federal Assembly in March, only flew for around two minutes and traveled 22 miles before it lost control and crashed. Another missile test reportedly lasted just four seconds with a distance of five miles."

there ...
you either didn't get (or pretend you didn't, LOL!) what I meant, which is:

neither Phalanx would be able to be churning out what's advertised as

or what that 57mm manufacturer advertised Yesterday at 11:59 PM
during the whole one minute

but it's pretty common to see those, ehm, theoretical figures, as in

Russia Is Back In Africa — and Making Some Very Odd Deals

"After largely withdrawing from Africa in the wake of the Soviet collapse, Russia is starting to return to the continent in surprising ways. Since December, Moscow has struck major deals in the Central African Republic (CAR) with the government and rebel leaders, raising questions about its intentions in the troubled African nation.

In December, Russia asked the U.N. Security Council to let it supply weapons to CAR’s new EU-trained army. After some objections by France, Russia secured an exception to the U.N. arms embargo, and began shipping weapons in January. By year’s end, Russia intends to deliver 5,200 rifles, a variety of other light weapons, and some 170 civilian instructors."

these huge numbers give so called "cyclic rate" which is an EXTRAPOLATION to one minute, for example the Bofors 57 mm has "cyclic rate" of more than 200 (two-hundred), but just 40 (forty) rounds hoisted LOL plus it's air-cooled so they wouldn't be able to shoot in a too long burst anyway

I end with this: if a Russian manager heard they had somehow managed to shoot five rounds during the first second, I wouldn't be surprised by your 300 per minute announcement Yesterday at 11:59 PM

Russia Just Fired a Missile Further Than Anyone Before and No One Noticed...

438c4ccbab1e364e62f4cb746eead991

"Russia has test-fired a surface-to-air missile 50 miles further than anyone has before, U.S. intelligence sources have revealed.

With little fanfare, Russia successfully used the S-500 surface-to-air missile system to hit a target 299 miles away, which is 50 miles further than any known test, CNBC reported.

Moscow says that the system can intercept hypersonic missiles, drones and stealth warplanes like the F-22 and the F-35 and would allow it to destroy targets at near space range. The test used a modified version of the missile used in the S-300V4 surface-to-air system."
