My understanding (though it comes from an article on Sputnik (hack! spit!) is that The Russian airforce plans to purchase 170 of these babies to replace its existing lightweight fighters. If true it's good news - but then again it was Sputnik!

well Sputnik tries to target those Westerners whom Lenin would've called Useful Idiots ... if one reads from a respected Russian blogger (link: ) what I translate with about twice the speed I type (and what I won't edit because I don't care; it's the last paragraph inside that link) as
"The 2011-2020 State Program assumed 37 serially produced Mig-35s to be procured for about 37b Rubles. While the 2013 adjustments to this Program put off signing the corresponding contract to 2016, no such a contract has been signed so far.
