This year's fifth batch of new Russian Su-35S fighter jets, manufactured by the Yury Gagarin Aircraft Plant, has been delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The previous batch of Su-35S aircraft was delivered in September. The Su-35S aircraft have completed a full cycle of factory testing, have been accepted by technical staff, and tested in various operating modes.

Just out of curiosity, but who knows...
On 28 October 2025, during a forum at the Academy of Aviation and Aeronautical Sciences (ANAiV) and other scientific and aeronautical organisations, an image appeared highlighting the progress made on the PD-14 aircraft engine for commercial aircraft.
Russian forum users pointed out that the caption indicated that the new PD-14 engine is already in series production and that 32 units have been produced so far, but what caught my attention is that the aircraft depicted is presented

there is a sperate thread for Russian Economy and Military news.

Maybe the russians plan a C919 order with russian engines? And /or an option/backup for C919 considering the volatile geopolitical situation?
The context of this picture is, when US temporarily cut off Engine supply in summer then UEC explicitly said, we are ready to provide our Chinese partner PD-14/PD-8 Engines for C919/C909.. so now they added C919 in slideshow of PD-14 Engine and showed that this Engine can support this and this Aircraft.

nope. Russia won't buy Chinese aircraft. they have their own flagship program.

PD-14 is in production but whole MC-21 is yet to be fully certified and 2nd localized MC-21 aircraft just flew last week.

Having engines that are already certified and mass-produced in advance by the aircraft on which they are to be installed is a good option.
They put C919 with MS-21-210 which is a smaller plane yet to be manufactured. this dont have any relation with current MS-21-310/PD-14.
when plane size is smaller or plane gets lighter due to advanced materials than my theory is that engine need to change.

Russia has put 5 Tu-214/Tu-204 commercial and some them fly to Mideast dealing with that heat. so i doubt they have bandwidth dealing with another plane in same category. range/Speed of Superjet on routes is nearly identical to narrow body planes like A-320.
