Pantsir-S Commander: Anti-aircraft missile and gun systems defending Moscow are exchanging information
The Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (ZRPK), which provide protection for Moscow from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have received new missiles with an increased range and a unified system for exchanging information. The effectiveness of the systems was assessed in a report
.
"Even the Israeli Iron Dome is not as effective as our Pantsir system. They can work together. They communicate with each other and I can see what the neighboring vehicles see. That is, for example, a neighbor has fired off all his ammunition, he has nothing to shoot with, then he gives me target designation (TsU) and I can destroy the UAV using this TsU," said the commander of the complex with the call sign Moscow.
It is noted that the low-flying drone with a plastic body is "just a fly" for air defense radars. During a special military operation in Russia, an electronic system was created that is capable of plotting the expected flight route of the drone while it is in a blind spot. The program calculates the area in which the drone can be detected again.
In May ,
that the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun system used a new anti-aircraft missile to repel a drone attack. The Ukrainian An-196 was hit by a 57E6M missile with a range increased to 40 kilometers and a kinetic warhead.
