it actually may be a good move, all the big western robotics companies are funded by VC and looking to boost their market cap as much as possible. With this release they are basically cutting the legs out from this, why should a VC invest into a western company when its equal or better is freely available, why would anyone be crazy enough to buy into their stocks. same applies for what Deepseek is doing to the AI industry.
