You could easily squeeze in a ballistics computer between the stock and scope (that block). Problem is, it won't be as robust as the one on the K-11 (military electronics are much more heavier than their civilian counterparts for several reasons).

computers are very robust, even civillian ones, because they have no moving parts.

You do know the movie "Red Dawn" (2011 version) gets away by hiring ethnic Koreans as actors, when they can't get any ethnic Chinese for it (by what I've read, the ethnic Chinese flat-out refused the job), right?

And let me remind you, most white people can't tell apart the ethnicity of Asians, all are "yellow monkeys" to them.

majority of the asian actors in the states are koreans. anyways, you should start a new thread on this topic.

Dose anyone have some good pic of China's Type 02 SMG, togather with Type 95 rifle?

Having seen that, dose anyone come across the idea that 02 and 95, besides firing different rounds, they are comming from the same lineage?

That's how close the type 03 rifle and this ZH-05 OICW's lineage is.

Robustness for computers are not determined by the amount of moving parts. Being a computer, it has microprocessors, which being the little delicate things they are, can break easily if you had to jump into say, a trench to take cover from fire. Cushioning the entire FCS only adds to the weight.

for the record computers do have moving parts the hard drive, CPU and cooling system. that stated they type we are talking about would have sensitive components and optics.

Reviving this thread with some new (and one older) picture:

It seems like that the PLA is slowly, but steadily disclosing this weapon. Finally.

That photo with the show actors wielding the ZH-05 was posted on the official PLA navy site (duh) and apparently commemorates the South Sea Fleet. That 'soldier' apparently is suppossed to represent a Naval Special Force member, not unlike those who are deployed in the Gulf of Aden. This would correlate with that one famous video clip from some years ago, claiming that this weapon is already in field testing and operation with the anti piracy patrol.

And still, I wonder why this weapon is never shown with its grenade magazine. And I also wonder whether the grenade part is indeed bolt-action or not, as that weapon sales chart clearly claimed that it is suppossed to be a "grenade machine gun", ie. likely semi-auto at least.

They should buy Trackpoint. It could turn all PLA soldiers into sharpshooters without any training.

V it would never happen.
One Trackingpoint is a US company who's sole product is military in nature, although useable for sporting. The US government would swoop in and block any sale.
two the Chinese government seems to be looking to maintain there own sort of Berry Amendment, IE only procuring equipment from Chinese suppliers with secondary sources used on a case by case in situations where the equipment is proven superior and even then mostly subcomponents.
three the price tag. Trackingpoint system are way outside where the PLA is looking to spend on its grunts. I would wager that one Xact system rifle would probably cost as much as all the equipment given to a single PLA infantrymen. That's also the reason its unlikely that the US Army will issue tracking point systems beyond sniper and specialist weapons for sometime to come.

and as a side note Tracking point is not a system that makes you a instant sniper its a system that assists the shooter, the shooter still has to understand the fundamentals of shooting and how the system works.

It really looks like it is a single shot bolt action rifle system.
Apparently to cut down weight and size, improve ergonomy and bring down costs, as well as to improve reliability.

Two versions are identified: One prototype variant with a battery box inside the forward handguard and an improved production variant that is much more sleeker.
