You mean for the 2nd picture I put up in post #5? If that was what it read I wouldn't be surprised -- such a big optic scope and electronics block probably won't do much else. That demonstrator/test gun looks more similar to XM-25 and K-11 than the current ZH-05. It's good to know this technology isn't new to the PLA and they've already conducted some tests with that bullpup dual calibre weapon.

I'm dying to see some clearer pictures of this bad boy, espicially the scope and targeting systems, and any indications on whether my hypothesis of the eyesight/camera could work.

Hmmm, seems like a lot of work to get the troops used to the bullpups, only to come back to the traditional layout shortly thereafter. Just to be clear, I'm not saying it's a bad decision. I mean compared to the effort of training them to use the new grenade capabilities and fancy electronics, switching rifle layouts probably isn't a big deal.

Possible precursors to this supposed ZH-05?

For some reason the second picture makes me think the soldier is korean... though the words on the targeting computer/optics is obviously chinese.

I have say that the uniform of the soldier in the second pic does look like American influenced. Since the characters on the scope look Chinese, could it be Taiwan? The characters are too fussy for me to see if they are simplified or traditional Chinese.

BTW, is it possible that this weapon has two magazines, one in front of the trigger and one behind it? The handle behind the trigger looks too big to be a simply handle...

Yeah there's definitely two magazines in those two pictures -- the forward one is probably the 20mm (or whatever caliber) grenade, and the rear/bullpup one is the standard assault rifle caliber.

Could it be the Blue army? We know that they are all dressed and equipped like Western troops.

Possible, but I'm not sure if PLA would give the enemy such a capability before their own red army... many variables at play.

I'm not even sure if that bullpup OICW is even chinese... the words on the optics look chinese and the overall design makes sense in that they initially built from the Type 95 configuration but the uniformed soldier clearly has something wrong with him.
