I have already done a job of checking the PLAN ships in service as well as their tonnage. So far, I've only edited the Type 055, The 4th already active in the fleet, and when I mentioned this, there were still 3 055 class ships commissioned.

I will make the list putting only the ships in service in the PLAN so far to be understandable. It presents itself as follows:

1 CVF Type 001 - 65,000 tons
1 CVF Type 002 - 65,000 tons
4 CCG Type 055 - 13,000 tons(52,000)
2 DDG Type 052B - 7,500 tons (15,000)
6 DDG Type 052C - 7,500 tons (45,000)
18 DDG Type 052D - 7,500 tons(135,000)
2 DDG Type 052A - 4,800 tons (9,600)
2 DDG Type 051C - 7,500 tons (15,000)

2 AEFS Type 903 - 25,000 tons (50,000)
1 AEFS Type 908 - 37,000 tons

Note: Analysis considering the main naval units of the PLAN, excluding the 100-1,500 ton naval units. The commissioning of all Type 056/A corvettes will compulsorily deactivate all Type 053 frigates, but they are still active in service in the PLAN. Type 035 SSKs are already being retired within the next few years. Removing SSKs and corvettes, the number of naval units with oceanic capacity is currently around 165 ships. Within 2030-2035 it is possible for the PLAN to equal both in oceanic capacity and in total displacement of naval units, even considering the increase in the American naval plan announced some time ago, because the considerable increase in the production of naval units of the Type 052DL is expected , Type 055B, Type 093B, Type 075B as well as the likely construction of the Type 076, the total tonnage of the USN today is around 3.2 to 3.5 million tons, that means the PLAN is at 1.5 million of tons of weight displaced from the USN, for the estimated plan until 2035, if the USN maintains a similar number, the PLAN would need to launch 100,000 annually by 2035, keeping the same ships or increasing production in some units to compensate for the withdrawal from service. of some decommissioned units, currently in the PLAN, military naval production annually throws around 150,000-200,000 tons, in the period 2014-2017 China threw over 600,000 tons, which ue is equivalent to throwing 150,000 tons into the sea in each of the four years.

8 AEFS Type 903A - 25,000 tons(200,000)

= 4.146.900 tonnage

Analysis considering the main PLAN naval units, excluding the 100-1,500 ton naval units. Removing the SSKs and corvettes, the number of naval units with oceanic capacity is around 272 ships. That number is pretty close to what USN Rear Admiral Michael McDevitt claims. Retired USN Rear Admiral Michael A. McDevitt made an estimate that I find very interesting, the PLAN would have 270 blue water ships by 2035. The next 15 years will be 140 blue water ships launched to increase the ship count and some to replace the old ones, this mix will include 5 to 6 NAe in 15 years. In addition to the 270 ships with blue water capacity, they will have an average of 160 smaller ships to operate in nearby seas, this will give the PLAN a force of 430 ships, by far the largest in the world and will certainly be world class.

No. This list is a composite of everything that is commissioned in the PLAN and also what will be released from national shipyards by the beginning of 2022, based on the little information I have available. This could all be the basis for the composition of the PLAN's fleet commissioned in 2024/2025, but I didn't do this analysis because it would be a more difficult job, some ships may not be commissioned by then.

What do you speculate that the end-fleet plan is for 2050?

Just in terms of the main surface ships like carriers, LHDs, destroyers, frigates

The period to 2050 is too far away, I cannot make a prediction about the numbers. Not even these numbers for 2035 I'm convinced they're correctly listed, you yourself have already given me some help in putting more Type 076 in this number, I'm still going to edit that. But what I can conclude in advance of the 2050 deadline is that the number of larger tonnage ships will be greater than the number of smaller tonnage ships, there will be a restructuring of the naval industrial base to support this production of larger ships, reducing the order of smaller ships.

Have you considered the rumor that PLAN is going to transfer all the 056 (not the A variant) to the coast guard?
