In that case, China might as well only build CVs instead.

LHDs be damned.
I'm just saying it all depends on how big and heavy the PLAN intends their UAVs to be to then be able to operate on flat tops as well.

If they envision an MQ-25 equivalent then a deck length like that on the 075 just won't cut it. If the UAV is smaller with lighter payload hence lower MTOW then okay, but then again how much utility is there to then have such a UAV that would require catapult take-off in the first place, even if the catapult hence the deck can be shortened as a result?

LHDs as ships that carry forces around, would benefit from size. If a ship is supposed to carry something bigger is better. The only problem I can think of is putting too many eggs in a single basket.

We need to ask if China needs such a high-end amphibious capability. The answer is: Would have uses. Japanese ECS islands are no-brainer targets since they can be weaponized against China.

A military operation will be carried out in Bohai Strait and the northern Yellow Sea from Feb 12 to next Sunday, said a navigation warning released by China's Maritime Safety Administration on Friday.

The warning gave specific coordinates of the operation area but didn't reveal any details about the military task, noting that any entering would be prohibited.

In addition, live-fire exercises would also be conducted in parts of the northern Yellow Sea from Monday to Friday, according to another navigation warning post by the MSA on Thursday.

I think it boilds down to this question:
Is the aviation wing of the 076 meant to support amphibious forces fighting on enemy beaches and islands through close air support (CAS), or is the aviation wing on the 076 meant to become wingmen of manned fighters and go toe-to-toe against enemy fighters?

Choosing either of the two is going to decide what the 076 will become.

LHDs as ships that carry forces around, would benefit from size. If a ship is supposed to carry something bigger is better. The only problem I can think of is putting too many eggs in a single basket.

There, you said it.

The 1:50 scale model was tested in a modelling pool, while the 1:25 scale model was tested on the sea.

Both flattop scale model points to a full-sized flattop ship that is 312 meters long. For comparison, Fujian is 316 meters in overall length.

Any idea what ship/design could this scale model be referring to? Fujian, 004, or just a generic supercarrier design?

Meanwhile, an LHD would be way oversized at 312 meters, to be honest.
It is a study of general haul form in open sea. A paper published in 2015. see one of the figure

I am surprised that an internet celebrity like Henri Kehmann to take a very old picture seemingly out of nowhere and create a fuss about it.

New ribbon bars. I'm not sure if this is a complete list.

I think this new system is a good change. Is there a translation for this anywhere?

PLAN is sending a 052D, 162 Nanning to Abu Dhabi for NAVDEX
Looks like the PLAN is looking forward to promote 052D for export. The Egyptian and Algerian navies could become prospective customers for the 052DE, I believe.

Also, I guess that's another indication that 052D's successor class is well underway...
