Remember the first four Type 054A, and two 054 used Pielstick engines. From the fifth onwards, the class used a domestic diesel engine. Diesel engines used with Chinese warships have long been domestic since that time. The train indeed has left the station, a long long time ago.

Funny how MTU, MAN and Pielseck are probably not under scrutiny after supplying their technology to criminal regimes such as the Neocon/Neolib US and Saudi Arabia. We have literally hundreds of thousands of deaths because of US wars and coups of aggression in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Ukraine, Kosovo, etc. in the past 20+ years but that is A-Ok !

FYI: Deutsche Welle (DW) is a notorious Trans-Atlanticist /US propaganda and misinformation outlet that operates from German soil. When it comes to politics or geopolitics they are just another BILD or Die Welt, an extension of the global US propaganda and misinformation apparatus. Please remember, Germany is still a US vassal state.

Keep your politics away from these threads. None of what DW reports here is new or factually disputed, and that settles the matter. If you don't like it, that's hardly a compelling objection to call the reporting into question. Which again, is not disputed.

It is fairly difficult to keep politics away from the topics of discussion when they have been politicized from the start. DW, just like BILD, Spiegel, Focus, etc. are all trans-atlanticist mouthpieces whether you or I like it or not. Their "reporting" says it all.

The hilarious part is where MTU said they had "definitely stopped" supplying the engines to the Song class submarines! Well the mainlanders have stopped building the Song class a long time ago now, so the horse has bolted already. Of course you have stopped selling the engines now. Bloody idiots!

Currently, are only the older ships and export ships using German engines? Are the new ones now indigenous?
