How legit is the Daily Express?
If true it is not surprising that PLAN nuclear submarines got detected. Acoustic reduction is a shortcoming of the PLAN and Brits are pretty good with their sonars.
The daily express is a main stream newspaper in the U.K.. it's very right wing of course. Its motto is "the pen is mightier WITH the sword." This should tell you where it's stance is.
It often blow it's (Britain) trumpet. And played down any foreigners' achievements.
Oh ok sounds legit then. I often confuse it with the Daily Mail.
Lol. But serious the daily "fail" Mail. Is actually also very right wing and very main stream. The two are literally fighting for the same readership.
When I was a boy, I was working as a newspaper delivery boy in the morning (very early. Like 5am start on my push bike) for pittance. Lol
Anyway, these two newspapers are quite popular, they appeal to the right wing "high brow" type where as the Sun and the Daily Star appeals to the right wing "low brow" type.
I mean its not like the State Council hasn't given out ample warning right? Did the Royal Navy really expect they'd cruise through the SCS unscathed? The foreign and defense ministry have communicated through various diplomatic channels and state news outlets that they'd be using the opportunity for the PLA to practice.... The article just comes across a bit "no shit, Sherlock". If you poke a hornets nest, expect shit to go down.
Actually no in this case. RN was considered to be the go-to navy for underwater warfare during the CW. Furthermore, it's widely considered that it retained ASW skills better than the USN during the pax Americana.
Given that there are 2087-equipped frigates, a full complement of heavy ASW helicopters aboard, and one of Astute-class boats lurking nearby - I'd argue this is probably one of the toughest ASW formations in the world right now.
I'm actually looking forward to HI Sutton or Jive Turkey's take on this. They probably have professional insights and could shed more technical light on the incident.
Daily Express is still a relative tabloid and uses superlatives in a manner that is unnecessary.
Whether the news itself is true or not, who knows, it's not a huge deal whether it is or not.
