Begs the question of why bother putting on a tarp when you can see everything anyway… is this to protect the launcher from the elements?
The original poster claimed that these could be HQ-29/26/DN-XX(?), though I'm not so sure of the claim, given the presence of air conditioning units above the driver cabs. Said to be photographed at Shandong last year. Posted by @tyruschi on Twitter.
I wonder how this thing compares to GBI if it's truly a KEI-equivalent, for midcourse ICBM defence. Higher speed etc should enable more shoot look shoot cycles/improve ability for later/more last minute engagements.
Same vhl chassis, power unit or cooling system for a massive radar (third vhl?). The kind of radar that could require 4 or 8 of these vhls...
Not opposed to the existence of such a system but... is it even worth it? They could just downlink sensor data from the any number of BMD sensors and space based IR like KEI does right?
