I just realized. They didn't show any 5.56 or 5.45 versions of the CS/LR17.

Does anyone remember this?

I don’t think they have ever shown a 5.45mm. I mean the most popular calibers of the world are 7.62x39mm in Asia, Africa and Europe. 5.56x45mm in the Americas, Europe and Asia. 5.45x39mm is pretty limited in those who retained it and very much linked to Russia. If you are a state looking to adopt a new rifle in 5.45 you are probably buying AK200/205.

If the PLA really is replacing 7.62x54R with 7.62x51 DJP-201 ammo, my thinking is that the pressure load of the DJP-201 would more closely match 308 Winchester pressure than the regular NATO standard to better match newer rounds such as .338 Norma for long range shooting.

The PLA has previously showed in a museum about their new weapons, three bolt action rifles, one in 7.62x51, other in .50 BMG or 12.7, and the other in 8.6

8.6 is .338 in another denomination. BTW, one way to tell the two machine guns apart, is that the GPMG has an beefier looking stock end.
