Well, if QBZ-191 aren't going to enter into mass production soon, this would be an interim solution.

In an ideal world, the 95's would probably see upgrade kits like the one's seen on Swat officer's rifles but probably too costly to do so for a rifle that will probably see another year or so of service(?). I assume they can upgrade them as they go as they get hand me downed to other forces. I wondering when 191 standardization throughout all of China's forces will be, or if China wants to upgrade to another rifle again in another decade or so.

Well, the 95's were being distributed at a relatively slow rate back in the 90's and early to mid 2000's. Hell, some units in China are still using the old version of the 95 while others are still holding onto the 81's. So, based on that, I think the Chinese are going to distribute the 191's to most of their units and completely phase out the 81's and many of the old versions of the 95 within the next 20+ years (or maybe half of that if a probability of war is suddenly on the rise).

I just realized that the new Heavy Machine Gun seems to be a modernized version of W85 HMG with picatinny rail, pistol grip, carry handle, buttstock, new front sight, bipod and probably some new lightening cuts on the receiver.
You could clearly see the DShK influences on this HMG.

A video showing W85 HMG being disassembled, he mistakenly called it "Romanian DShK"

DShK disassembly for comparison

Note the attached smart fore-grip, the same fore-grip found on the new assault rifle.

I realized the front iron sight is the same as those of the QBZ-95 as opposed to the QBZ-91-1, but the rifle lacks the QBZ-95's trigger hand guard.
